I tend to uphold a strict code of conduct when mulling over which bar to hop to. Rule#1: No cover charge. There are way too many bars in any given city that do not demand an obligatory fee to patronize. Rule# 2: No Lines. Nothing good has ever come from waiting in line to drink; and if there is a line outside-there is one inside. Rule# 3: No bouncers. This seems to go in tandem with #1 and #2.
I’ve broken all of these rules at one point or other, but #3 seems to get broken the most…especially in NYC…
